An Extra Virgin Olive Oil blended with Greek Mythology

Task

Choosing the right packaging for the quality characteristics of an olive oil is in itself a demanding process; in terms of both preserving and promoting the product. That’s why most of the time the choice is made in the last stages of the process. In the case of the Kyklopas, an extra virgin olive oil, every part of the packaging design process was linked to a complete concept. The deep-rooted tradition of the olive oil, even within the Greek mythology and the Homeric epics, formed the basis of the project.

The choice of a container with ancient Greek design influences was the basis of the theme. The Cyclops, this mythological giant in the Odyssey, was directly connected to the fruits of the earth. Thus, the original illustration found its theme: Odysseus against the Cyclops, on a valuable agricultural product.

Typography is also part of the thematic authenticity with the font following the visual identity, while the selected colours support the artistic elements behind the concept and promote the illustration of the bottle.
