Epnus

The sleeping mattresses constitute a special product category. They embrace our body during the moments that we are totally susceptible, such as during sleep, and they stay with us for an average of an entire decade. When we add to this theoretical basis the parameters of the handmade mattress and the long tradition in the field, then the creation of a corporate identity surpasses the limits of an average case of a mattress manufacturing company.

Task

Epnus is an actively evolving Greek company, which continues, through its philosophy, to operate in the authentic model of a family business. Keeping in mind the company's production process of its handmade mattresses, the special care offered by the manufacturers’ personal contribution, the long experience in the field, but also the diligent research that they have dedicated to the selection of the highest quality natural materials, we focused on this special care that they offer to their customers’ sleep and on the perfect balance between professional production and personal emotional attachment to the product.

A brand name that exceeds the limits of the conventional

From Hypnos to Epnus

The philosophy of the corporate identity is reflected in the brand name, so our goal was to connect the frame of sleep, the greek “Hypnos” with the breath “pneum-“ of comfort offered by the handmade product. The connection of “pneum-” with sleep, and from there with the special care of the “mind” –the greek “nous”- behind the product, is obvious in many ways as a reference in the brand name Epnus.

The basic colour choice of the Epnus identity was used through its gradations for the categorisation of the products, with a characteristic application in the printed material, the products labels and in the product catalogue.

Focusing on the Product through the values of the Company

The creation of each handmade mattress by Epnus begins, first of all, by using the elements of the company’s philosophy. The combination of the natural materials with the personal contribution in manufacturing, but also combined with the modern training in the new manufacturing techniques, establishes the Epnus mattresses as top of their kind in every related manufacturing and market field. This determines that the final recipient of their benefits will be no other than the customers themselves, by adding quality in their everyday life. For this reason, the main axis of the company’s philosophy is based on the feeling that “tonight, someone will enjoy their sleep in an Epnus mattress”.

On this basis, we have created the specialised categorisation of the Epnus products, the complete information and communication framework behind each matress, and thus we compiled, formed and featured the company’s identity and products through photography, custom iconography, quality content and editorial for the product catalogue; always focusing on the task that the products are directly addressed to the specialised needs of each potential customer.

Symmetry is the basis of every creation, from the touch of the hand, to the natural materials and the modern know-how. It is the basis of every handmade Epnus mattress, which aims offer quality and enjoyment. It is a complete philosophy, which constitutes a personal commitment of Epnus for the top quality of their handmade mattresses, but also for the quality of everyday life of every person who trusts their dreams in an Epnus matress. Thus, this “Touch of Symmetry” was promoted to the basis of the brand’s communication strategy.

The flowers of sleep

Both series of mattresses include unique quality products, which could be poetically characterised as “flowers” of sleep, due to the quality, comfort and the natural origin of their construction materials. Thus, we chose characteristic flower names to represent each and every Epnus mattress.
